Description of Work/Assignment: In spanish this past quarter we did a group project where we picked a type of establishment (food truck, food stand, corner restaurant, ect...) to sell authentic spanish food from a spanish speaking country. As a group for the project we were to price the food, explain what the food is like, and basically "sell" our idea to the "sharks" (our peers) for the presentation. During the presentation we also had to use the spanish vocab we were learning in class at the time. Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why?: The 21sr century skill I believe fits well with the shark tank project is financial, economic, & business literacy. This 21st century skill correlates with this project because for the project we had to be able to understand the business process side of what shark tank is and how it works. In shark tank you are the interpreter who is selling an idea; in this case we are selling our restaurant and food ideas to the class to vote on whether it can become an imaginary restaurant. What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why?: From this project I am most proud of getting all the information together and presenting it in the required vocab words for the presentation. How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment?: I developed and or improved upon the 21st century skill economic, & business literacy by researching authentic spanish foods and their prices to "sell" to a group of people an idea for a food truck. What was most difficult about completing this task?: What was most difficult about completing this project was all of us in the group being at school on the same day to present. There were about three different days when one of us, or multiple of us couldn't be at school, so we had about an extra week to practice and get everything straightened out. How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do differently?: To improve the shark tank project I would want to make sure we were to rehearse what each of us were going to present and what vocab words we would use. If I could start over, what I would do differently would be to make a poster board to have a bigger and better eye catching piece for the class to get a better idea about what we were pitching. How does this relate to what you have learned in the past?: This project relates to what I have learned in the past about food prices and restaurants in 7th grade when I did a project a little similar to this one. How can you apply this to future learning?: I can apply this to my future learning in school projects and work environments about pricing qualities that are authentic to what the actual prices are.
