How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment?: I was able to develop, and or improve on the 21st Century Skill, Self Directional Skills by this project/assignment being an individual project. As it was an individual project I had to manage how long I worked on the comic strip each day leading up to the due date for it to be completed on time. I also had to take into account that this project/assignment was also graded on the art work I did for the characters so I had to be sure to try my best at the art portion of the comic strip even though I'm not the greatest at art.
What was most difficult about completing this task?: To complete the project/assignment the most difficult about it was attempting to write big and neat enough for the reader to see, but also outlining the words in sharpie was difficult because once it's in sharpie you can't just erase it if you make a mistake, so overall it was a bit difficult to write the dialogue in the comic strip. |
Description of Work/Assignment: The comic strip project/assignment was a way to use creativity to explain physical and chemical changes, which we were learning in class at the time. In the comic strip it was instructed to create characters as a way to show how they go through physical and chemical changes.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why?: The 21st Century Skill I feel that would fit well with this project/assignment is Self Directional Skills. Self Directional Skills fits well because I, myself had to monitor the amount of work I got done and managing my time to get it turned in by the due date in decent quality is something that I'm responsible for as a student. Along with how I understood physical and chemical changes well enough to explain in the comic strip. What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why?: From the comic strip project/assignment I am most proud of the characters I created to show examples of physical and chemical changes. How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do different?: If I could restart this project/assignment the thing I would do differently would be the comic structure panels. Instead, of the whole page with different structured comic strip panels I would rather use the singular square panels that are all the same size. This is because it would be easier to write the dialogue between the characters without the words having to lead down the page a little bit. I could improve the writing of the dialogue in my comic strip. I believe it could've been neater and not all jumbled.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past?: This project/assignment relates to what I had learned previously in class about physical and chemical changes. In past years in science I do remember that we touched on physical and chemical changes too. Along with making comic strips about other science topics as well. How can you apply this to future learning?: I can apply this comic strip project/assignment to future learning by retaining and remembering the information I had learned about physical and chemical changes and use it towards possible other science classes in the upcoming years. |
