One project I did last quarter was a project we did in science about Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration; along with how they correspond with one another. For the assignment we had to create a comic strip giving an explanation on what Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration is and how it works; we were to make the comic strip fun and informational at the same time. Some goals I had for the project were to make the writing and illustration legible and easy to view in the comic; another goal I had was to give a well detailed explanation on the science of Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration. Why I chose it: I chose to select this work sample to share on my portfolio because I thought it was an interesting way of learning about the topic of Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration, along with it being a fun and creative way of expressing our knowledge on the topic. 21st Century Skills: This assignment represents the 21st Century skill Self-Directional skills, with the project being a comic strip that you, yourself creates with the understanding of Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration and putting the information on the topic into the comic strip in a fun informative way. How it Challenged me:The project demonstrates my current growth of how it challenged me to take the information I learned and apply it in a fun way of learning. It showcased my interests of drawing and being more creative in projects, and my abilities to create a fun comic that teaches you a little something at the same time. How I could improve from this point and what I could do better next time: I could improve from this point on by having further detail in the characters and adding a better variety of colors in the comic. What I could improve on next time is the writing portion of the assignment by making the writing on the comic more legibly and less difficult to read.
